BUILD CDC is honored to partner with the St. Paul’s Mazzini Charitable Foundation as part of the Triangle of Hope initiative, a coordinated effort to expand supportive housing and essential services within the 16502 neighborhood. Our work at Washington Square Apartments and Mazzini’s investment at St. Paul’s complement one another, creating a unified path toward housing stability, wellness, and opportunity. Together, we are strengthening the neighborhood and helping residents build healthier, safer, and more hopeful futures.

Second Harvest works hard every day to ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food. Through partnerships and neighborhood-based efforts like this one, we are able to meet neighbors where they are at. Neighborhoods like St. Pauls and the west Erie area have long been built on strong connections and a shared commitment to supporting one another. We’re excited to be working with the Mazzini Charitable Foundation on the St. Pauls Neighborhood Center that will allow us to connect neighbors with nutritious food as well as other community resources they need to thrive.

St. Paul's has anchored Little Italy through decades of change — and for 25 years, the Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network has partnered in that mission, offering hot meals, community meetings, and celebrations that remind residents they are seen and valued. We have seen firsthand both the depth of need in this neighborhood and the power of this sacred space to meet it.
Even as the neighborhood's needs have grown, the building's activity has diminished — but this new community center arrives at a critical moment to change that, transforming a space grown quiet into a true hub of opportunity. This isn't just a renovation; it's a reinvestment in people.
We see in this hub the same founding spirit that has always driven our work: that empowering a neighborhood begins with giving neighbors a place to gather, to grow, and to belong. For an organization whose mission is revitalizing neighborhoods and empowering people, this is more than a partnership. It is a calling answered.
